Manager Rory Young has forwarded the following message to members today:
Dear Members,
World Handicap System
As we let you know earlier in the year we are adopting the world handicap system (WHS) and it is now ready to be implemented for competitions, there has been several hours of work put in to get all the scores transferred and corrections made and we believe that it is now ready. Thank you to Daij Khalifa from the BGA for his hard work in helping to get us there.
If I could now encourage all of you to register with www.howdidido.com and link yourselves to Awali GC either as Home club or Away, it will allow you to view your handicap and scores that have been inputted for your handicap, book competitions and view results. Some of you may notice a large change to your handicap this is due to you not having 20 rounds available to use, so it may take a few more rounds for your handicap to settle down.
As for the handicaps, remember this is your index, you will need to check the charts of the course you are playing to get your playing handicaps.
We will still be using MasterScoreboard.com for bookings for the next few weeks whilst people register for the new site, however your old CONGU handicap will be finished as of the end of today (7/12/2020) and moving forward your new WHS will be in operation. I will be updating the boards and publishing the course rating sheets later today.
One thing to note is that the handicaps only update at 2am everyday in Bahrain so you will have to wait till Saturday morning to find out what new handicaps are after the comps.
Anyone with any questions can email or message me and I will answer accordingly.

Clarification #1 (by Daij Khalifa of BGA)
Daij has provided the following clarification with regard to what is entered in the "Handicap" space on the scorecard:
A player is required to specify his/her Course Handicap on his/her scorecard which can be obtained from the Course Handicap table shown on the notice board. A Course Handicap is converted to a Playing Handicap by the competition software, ClubV1. The Playing Handicap is calculated at 95% of the Course Handicap (WHS Committee's recommendation). The calculation of the Playing Handicap takes place before rounding the course handicap to a full number to avoid any double rounding.
Clarification #2 (by Rory Young)
The software that AGC uses for competition start sheets creates a list of players names together with their
Playing Handicap. When this start sheet applies, it is this
Playing Handicap that the player enters on the scorecard (there is no need to look at the Course Handicap table on the notice board).
Addendum (by Onny)
On the AGC website, the previous "MSB Book" link has been replaced with a "HowDidIDo" link, so that you may easily navigate to the
How Did I Do login page.
