The Bahrain Open

The Bahrain Open Championship,

inaugurated in March 1964, was the first Open Competition for players in the Middle East. The first Bahrain Open Ladies Championship was contested in 1988.

Many duels have taken place over the years on the sand course of Awali Golf Club to determine the Bahrain Open Champions but who will reign supreme this year? We welcome all competitors from far and wide to participate in the Open and continue the legacy of this great championship.

The 60th Bahrain Open will be held on the weekend of Friday 18th and Saturday 19th April 2025.

The course will be available for practice on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th April 2025.

To qualify for entry for the Open championships, handicaps must be as follows:

  • WHS Handicap Index Limit is 9.7 for Men (Handicap limit is subject to change, please check with the club)
  • WHS Handicap Index Limit is 38 for Ladies
